In the front quad during lunch, April 29-May 3, we are kicking off a Spread the Word campaign as part of a whole school engagement activity to increase inclusion on our campus. During this event students and staff can take a pledge to help in creating a more inclusive campus. This year Hoover was recognized as a “Unified Champion School” for our Unified physical education class and unified sports through Circle of Friends. Over the past few months students of all abilities participated in flag football, soccer, basketball, and kickball.
Also, Saturday May 4th at Eastlake HS, we have a unified track team competing for CIF. This program is sponsored by Special Olympics of Southern California
There are three components to the Unified Champion recognition. The first is unified clubs, second is whole school engagement and third is youth leadership. Please join us next week as we bring ALL students together in the quad to make the pledge to go all Inclusive. Each day at lunch will be an activity and we would love to see staff creating relationships with students.
Please plan to wear a pink shirt on Friday May 3rd. Prizes and giveaways will be handed out.
