Native Biodiversity Corps Program The SDZWA Native Biodiversity Corps (NBC) program brings together 9th - 12th grade students to design, implement, and maintain California native gardens on their school campus. For 10-20 hours per month, student Corps engage in site assessment and preparation, native plant selection, and finally, garden implementation.
With successful completion AND active participation students are eligible to receive a stipend. NBC students also have the option to participate in nature-based, social learning experiences designed to enhance their inquiry and critical thinking skills. For example, we hope to bring students to the Torrey Pines Reserve and to build native gardens at local sites in or near the City Heights community.
The spring 2024 application period closes on Friday November 17th at 5pm
