
Saturday, May 2nd Hoover will host the district’s first Newcomer Welcome Center Family Leadership Conference from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Students and families from Hoover, Crawford, Mira Mesa, Lincoln, and San Diego High Schools (and their feeder middle schools) will be welcomed to participate in workshops and on-site resource fair.
The Newcomer Welcome Center at Hoover is open every Monday, from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM in the Parent Center.
Our services are specifically designed to assist immigrant and refugee families as they adjust to life in the U.S. We offer a range of support, including:

Essential Supplies: School supplies, hygiene kits, shoes, and bus passes

Educational Guidance: Orientation to U.S. education, academic counseling, ESL classes for parents, and mental health resources

Technology Access: Hotspots for internet connectivity, navigating online platforms for school

Community Connections: Referrals to organizations providing housing, jobs, healthcare, legal advice, and food assistance
